Integrating & Building Businesses | Converting Ideas into Quantifiable Opportunities
Respected across the global commercial real estate industry as a credible voice in decision making, finding strategic financing partners, establishing frameworks that enhance values and mitigate risks, Jason Lund earns a seat at the table wherever he serves. Jason is an inspirational leader that sees the threads of opportunity throughout an organization and brings them together in a coherent whole, helping others extend their thinking, while driving a material business advantage.
Currently, as CEO and Vice Chairman of the Advisory Board for Building Cyber Security (BCS), Jason is leading a group of US Government and public/private sector industry stakeholders to create a simplified and actionable framework of market-based solutions that address new vulnerabilities arising from smart building technologies. This framework will enhance protection of operational technology, increase system availability, recognize certified platforms in terms of ability to safely offer an array of smart technology management services, and boost overall preparedness to mitigate physical cyber risks.
In addition to his dual roles at Building Cyber Security, Jason is the founder of Simple Way Forward, a consultancy focused on friction reduction in businesses that includes simplifying interactions, aligning structures, and organizing processes to help businesses achieve desired results and succeed faster. Before joining BCS, Jason spent over 30 years in the commercial real estate sector, most recently as Executive Managing Director for CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate services platform. He represented the VAS service line on the Global Client Care committee for CBRE, led business development for an Americas division and taught business development and leadership courses. In his most recent position, Jason led the ACS business in a turnaround, increasing EBITDA by over 30% and creating new services via five lines of business, including Property Condition, Environmental Services, Telecom Services, Construction Risk Management and Building Technology Consulting.
Between his time at CBRE, Jason spent four years serving as Executive Managing Director for Colliers International where he led the Southwestern US Region for the Colliers Valuation platform and was one of four EMD’s to launch such a platform for national clients to compete with the largest valuations platforms. While at Colliers, Jason also served as a member of the global valuation leadership committee representing the United States.
Jason is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He also holds an MAI Designation from the Appraisal Institute and is licensed in the State of California as a Certified General Appraiser. When he is not improving the value of commercial properties and assets, he is most likely speaking on a panel or solo to a large group on mitigating OT physical cyber risks or on other topics such as business development, strategy development or leadership.
